The hobby caters for all types. It could be scale models, aerobatic models, water planes, or just fly for fun sports models. Some of the models are built from kits or plans and can take anything from two months to more than a year to complete, although in recent years Almost Ready To Fly models have dominated the market. These offer the newcomer the chance to become airborne after a few evenings work although many modellers enjoy the building aspect as much as the flying.

Either way you’ll find out more about a little known but fascinating hobby and who knows, you may become the Club’s latest recruit.
Club annual fee is currently £10 per year or part year, plus a £5 joining fee to cover administration and postage for new members. Members must also be a member of one of the national bodies, the SAA (Scottish Aeromodellers Association) or BMFA (British Model Flyers Association) who provide third party insurance cover for all our activities. We can help you join one of those bodies. If you don’t have insurance you are not eligible for GVMAC membership.
