The club flying site is at the southern end of Kilbirnie loch, easily found by following the B777 road from the roundabout at the south end of Beith. The fifth turning on the right leads towards Lochshore.

On the way in you will pass the recently built ‘Community Hub’ that serves as changing facilities for the rugby club and has a Cafe and Toilets available for all. It is open every day from 10 am until 3.30 (times may vary).

The runway cut into the grass field is available any time, any day, unless there is a pre-arranged Council organised event in the way.

The water of Kilbirnie Loch is also available at any time, but is shared with other users, the anglers, the water skiers and canoeists. There are also walkers and cyclists and we all try to get on together, keep out of each other’s way.

Each of the KLMG clubs runs events from time to time, on days that are marked as “priority days” for that club. On those days we ask members of other clubs to avoid certain parts of the loch to avoid interfering with the events. The parts of the loch to be avoided will be explained by the event organising club.

At the moment, our Garnock Valley Model Aircraft Club runs two events every year, one in Spring and one in autumn, and we invite model aircraft fliers from all over to come and fly from our water. These are our “Priority Days”.
